What size grating do I need?
Quick answer
It depends on span and load. As a rule, deeper and thicker bearing bars carry more over longer spans. Send us your span, load and environment and we will recommend a bar size — or size it yourself with our calculator.
A short 0.6 m span under light foot traffic may need only a 25×3 mm bar, while a 1.5 m span under heavy load can need 50×5 mm or more. Bearing-bar depth has the biggest effect on capacity, followed by thickness and spacing.
