This matters more than it sounds. A saddle clip sized for a 25x3 mm bearing bar will not seat correctly on a 40x5 mm bar, and a clip spaced for the 19-space series will miss the bars on a 15-space panel. Ordering hardware separately from grating is one of the most common sources of site delays we see on EPC projects. Grating Accessories Overview
Most fixings fall into two families. Clamp-type clips — saddle clips, G-clips, and M-clips — grip the bearing bars and bolt to the supporting steel without any welding, which keeps the galvanized coating intact and allows panels to be lifted later for access. Weld-type fixings — weld lugs and washers — give a permanent connection where panels will never be removed, common on platforms in heavy industrial applications such as power plants and offshore structures.
Material and finish follow the grating they secure. Carbon steel clips are hot-dip galvanized to ASTM A123 to match galvanized panels; stainless 304 or 316 clips suit coastal, chemical, and food-grade environments. For FRP grating we supply dedicated hold-down clips — typically 316 stainless — engineered for molded and pultruded profiles, so the fixing never becomes the corrosion weak point in an otherwise non-metallic installation.
Clip geometry and spacing recommendations follow ANSI/NAAMM MBG 531 and YB/T 4001.1 conventions. As a rule of thumb, each panel is secured with a minimum of four fixings, with additional clips on long spans, vibrating equipment, or trafficked walkways — our engineers confirm quantities against your panel layout at quotation.

Yes. Distributors and contractors regularly order accessories alone for replacement or retrofit work. For non-standard or competitor panels, a photo or sketch of the bar profile is enough to confirm fit.
What is the MOQ and lead time for grating accessories?
When accessories ship with a grating order there is no separate MOQ — quantities are calculated from your panel layout. For standalone accessory orders, MOQs are modest and depend on clip type and finish. Standard galvanized clips are normally available quickly; stainless 316 or custom edge trim adds fabrication time. For coastal, marine, chemical, or wastewater sites — and for all FRP grating installations — we recommend stainless 304 or 316 hardware so the fixing does not corrode before the panel. Mixing dissimilar metals can accelerate corrosion, so match clip finish to panel finish.
