Industrial Platforms, Walkways & Mezzanines
Factories and plants need access platforms, walkways and mezzanine floors that carry foot traffic, equipment and occasional point loads, drain freely and let light through to the level below.

Engineering considerations
The clear span between supports and the design load (often 5 kPa for access platforms, higher for equipment) set the bearing-bar size — deeper bars for longer spans and heavier loads.
Deflection, not just strength, often governs the bar depth for a comfortable walking feel (a span/200 guide is common).
Spacing is chosen for the surface — finer pitch for smaller objects and heels, serrated tops where spillage or wet conditions create slip risk.
GoGrating's approach
We size welded galvanized steel grating to the span and load with our load tables and calculator, set the spacing and serration for the surface, and fabricate panels to the platform layout with toe plates, banding and matching stair treads.
What we deliver
Welded steel platform and walkway panels, stair treads, toe/kick plates and grating clips, hot-dip galvanized and packed for export.
Standards & compliance
ANSI/NAAMM MBG 531 load tables; galvanizing to ASTM A123.
FAQ
How do I choose grating for a platform?
Pick a bearing bar whose tabulated capacity exceeds your design load at the platform's clear span, check deflection against a span/200 guide, then set spacing and serration for the surface. Our calculator does the maths.
What load should a walkway platform carry?
Access platforms are often designed for around 5 kPa uniform load plus a concentrated load check, but always confirm the figure for your project and standard.
