Define the Inspection Plan in the Enquiry

Inspection depends on the specified product, material, dimensions, finish, applicable standard and destination requirements. The quotation should state the records and hold points required before production begins.

• Material grade and supporting material records
• Panel dimensions, bearing-bar pitch, cut-outs and fabrication tolerances
• Visual checks, weld or joint requirements where applicable
• Surface-treatment or coating requirements and agreed records
• Packing, marking, quantity and pre-shipment verification
• Third-party inspection scope when requested by the buyer

Do Not Rely on a Generic Website Claim

A standard name on a webpage is not proof that every product or order conforms to that standard. State the governing edition, acceptance criteria and documentation requirements in the RFQ, then require written confirmation in the quotation and purchase documents.

Prepare a Verifiable Requirement

Send drawings, quantities, destination, service environment and required documents. The supplier team can then confirm what is applicable and what evidence can be provided for that order.
