Grating specifications vary by material, bearing-bar section, pitch, span, surface treatment, application and destination market. For that reason, a standard name shown on a website is not a substitute for confirming the exact requirement on the quotation and purchase order.
When requesting a quotation, state the governing product or project standard, required inspection points, material certificate needs and any destination-market conformity documents. The supplier team will confirm which requirements apply to the quoted construction before production.
Typical documents to request
- Product specification and approved drawing
- Material or resin records, when required by the order
- Dimensional and visual inspection records
- Surface-treatment or galvanizing records, when specified
- Packing list, commercial documents and agreed export records
- Project-specific test or conformity documents explicitly listed in the quotation
Standards referenced during specification
Depending on the product and project, buyers may reference standards such as ANSI/NAAMM MBG 531, YB/T 4001.1 or ASTM A123. Their applicability is not automatic: the relevant edition, scope and acceptance criteria should be stated in the enquiry and confirmed in writing.
